Implanon

The Implanon implant is a small, flexible rod which is inserted under the skin of the inner upper arm. It slowly releases a progestogen hormone (etonogestrel 25 – 70 μg per day) to prevent pregnancy for up to three years. It is more then 99,9% effective.

The insertion will only take 30 seconds and a local anaesthetic is applied to the skin to make the insertion more comfortable. Your period can be irregular or even disappear during use of Implanon.
