Scan on medical indication

Besides the two standard pregnancy scans (dating scan and anomaly scan) there can be a reason for your midwife to refer you for an extra scan. These scans are always covered by the health insurance.

Reasons to have extra (medical) ultrasound scans:

• in case of blood loss
• to show the position of your baby and/or the placenta
• to check the growth of your baby
• to check the amount of amniotic fluid
